It appears that Activision has finally made the jump to start releasing standalone guitars into the wild. The decision actually is more premature than I would have expected, given the still almost sold out status of Guitar Hero 3 at retailer. (At least as far as the bundled packs are concerned). All versions (Wii, PS3 and 360) will soon see their wireless guitars available for standalone purchase, which all I have to say is about time! Of course, this really doesn’t help PS3 fans out, who are still waiting the horrific period of time to find Rock Band guitars solo out in the wild, to get that whole experience.

The 360 and PS3 guitars will retail for 69 dollars and the Wii will hit for the cheaper price of 59 dollars. Likely do to the cost cutting features by having the Wii remote handling the wireless shenanigans. The not so good news is that you won’t actually see these guitars in store until sometime in March, but at least you know it’s coming, eventually!
