HD DVD Player Gets Price Cut

If you’ve been holding off to jump aboard the HD DVD boat now may be your time. Microsoft has recently announced that the once $179.99 HD DVD add on has been lowered to $129.99- effective immediately in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Of course now the real question here is, will this throw off Blu Ray’s domination which was powered by PS3′s playback capabilities? PS3′s cheapest model at $399.99 versus 360′s cheapest model + HD DVD addon = $279.99 + $129.99 = 409.98. This new price cut from Microsoft may have the potential to at least temporarily level the playing ground but I mean common Microsoft, when are we going to get a 360 with an HD DVD drive built in?
