Dead Space Not Being ‘Gimped’ because of PS3

The PS3 has seen much scorn from developers for not being user-friendly to program for. It has also affected the Dead Space development team, who is currently working on the Xbox 3670 version of the game, but will soon move to the PS3. Though stressing that the game will be the same on either console, executive producer of the project told Videogamer.com that they won’t “gimp” the Xbox 360 version just because the “PS3 can’t do it.”
Now before you go screaming that the PS3 is a weaker machine, it’s not. “It’s a beautiful machine and it is very powerful,” he says. “It’s just it’s not as easy to develop for right now.”
They are looking to “optimize the crap out of it” so that it runs well on either console. The game is due out later this year.
