List of Studios EA Bought and Closed

ea-logo.jpgOn its way to the top of the hill, EA had stepped on many other studios and companies, which it bought and eventually closed some down. The largest publisher in the world has spent billions acquiring studios over its career, with current CEO admitting that the company “blew it” when it came to handling its purchases. Great development firms like Westwood and Bullfrog come to mind.

The company is the current owner of heavyweights such as BioWare, DICE, Pandemic and Criterion Studios, all of which have churned out great money makers for EA. On that regard, CVG has compiled a list of studios EA has opened or acquired since 1998. It has expanded quite a lot in the last decade, opening studios in Singapore and Spain, among other places.
