Top 50 Developer List Compiled

March 8th, 2008
The game developer magazine has compiled a list of the top 50 developers based on a number of critical factors. They range from average game review scores on metacritic, to revenue and developer feedback. Naturally, no surprises on who earns top honors, although I wouldn’t exactly point out Wii Play as Nintendo Kyoto’s crowning achievement. The list is interesting and you’ll want to scope out how your favourite developers faired in the grand scheme of things. You’ll need to subscribe to the magazine to catch the entire top 50 list, but the top 20 (which really is the most interesting part anyways) is as follows:

1. Nintendo Kyoto (Brain Age, Wii Play)
2. Infinity Ward (Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare)
3. Blizzard Entertainment (World Of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade)
4. Electronic Arts Canada (FIFA Soccer 08, NBA Street: Homecourt)
5. Valve (Portal, Team Fortress 2)
6. Konami Japan Studio (Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer, Dance Dance Revolution Universe)
7. Insomniac Games (Ratchet & Clank Future)
8. Capcom Osaka Studio (Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Monster Hunter Freedom)
