Sony Computer Entertainment Europe sends over word that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be released in the region on March 26 for £24.99 on Blu-ray, and on March 27 on the PlayStation Network. Launching on the same day as the Blu-ray version, a PS3 bundle featuring the 40GB model, a Sixaxis controller and the game will be available at retail for £299.99.

Acting as a prologue to the upcoming full game, the title will feature 71 cars, including vehicles by Lotus, Aston Martin, Subari and Ferrari, to drive on six tracks: Eiger Nordwand; the Daytona International Speedway; the London City Track; the Fuji Speedway, Suzuka and the High Speed Ring – all drivable in two layouts. It will also feature new physics and online multiplayer support for up to 16 players.

The game will also support online leaderboards and there will also be Gran Turismo TV – a dedicate donline channel available on the PlayStation Network. Additionally, the European version of the game will feature an additional Drift Mode, two-player split-screen racing, car tuning and more. The complete Gran Turismo 5 launches in 2009.
