I can remember some of the very beginnings of the internet. I even remember some of the first internet memes, those predecessors to things like youtube and the viral marketing phenomenon. Your AIM or ICQ message window would pop up with a friend saying “oh man, you’ve gotta see this thing, it’s hilarious!”. One of these incredibly addictive internet series is the Homestar Runner website. Pretty much everyone has seen at least one of the infamous “Strongbad Emails”. If you haven’t, google it (just make sure you’ve got some time to kill, you’ll probably have to watch more than one). The whole bevvy of popular animated characters are going to be brought to Wiiware this June by some rather qualified people. Telltale Games, the folks behind the Sam & Max series and Videlectrix are teaming up to bring you Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People in five episodic installments. They’ll be a simple point-and-click style of adventure and will of course feature lots of easter eggs and inside jokes, so to get the full experience you might want to check out the series before the game comes out. The creators of the series are lending their creative talent and voices to the project, so fans of the series can be assured it’s going to be in the same wacky, quirky vein of humor you’ve come to know and love. There’s not much else in the way of concrete details; pricing and release dates have yet to be determined, but it’s likely the game won’t cost too much, being a Wiiware game.
