In an interesting turn of events, Microsoft today announced the appointment of Daniel Maher as Xbox Live Editor for Europe. Maher previously worked at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s International Software Development team.

He will now be responsible for the editorial and production of the various European versions of ‘Inside Xbox’, the daily news magazine on Xbox Live. Maher will also work to establish the fledgling magazine as an “entertaining and informative new media”. Inside Xbox offers the latest Xbox news and events, including information and footage of the latest games, music and movie content available on the service.

Daniel Maher joined SCEE straight out of university in 2001, where he worked as a content producer on PlayStation.com before moving to the company’s International Software Development team. He has worked on various titles such as Tekken: Dark Resurrection, Patapon and God of War 2, the latter of which he accepted two BAFTAs for on behalf of the development team.
