Interplay Bringing Classic Titles To Wii

On April 21st, 2008 in Uncategorized -

Interplay is working on getting its name into the teeth of gamers around the world once again. Having announced their plans to create sequels to classic titles in their archives including Earthworm Jim and Descent, they’ve announced what must be a first strike attempt. The company is releasing several of their 16-bit classics on the Wii Virtual Console. All are indicative of the quirky, wacky humor found in so many of their games. Both Earthworm Jim and its sequel will be offered in all their bizarre platforming glory as well as occasionally gross platformer Boogerman. The odd fighting game Clayfighter which features bizarre clay Elvis Impersonators, Valkyries and Clown is also going to be available later this year along with the other games. All four titles were featured on the Sega Genesis and a few were also released on the Super Nintendo.  There’s nothing definite on the release date yet beyond expecting them in the next eight months.
