This week’s additions to the Virtual Console lineup are classic NES beat-em-up River City Ransom and old-school RPG Phantasy Star III.

River City Ransom is the third game in Technos’ Kunio-kun series, which saw release in the West in the form of Renegade and Super Dodge Ball, among other. The game is priced at 500 Wii points.

Spanning several generations, Phantasy Star III takes players through both new and classic Phantasy Star locations. It is considered by many to be the weakest entry in the long-running series. The game is selling for 800 Wii points.
