Celebrating the fourth year of the game, City of Heroes community manager Lighthouse has announced that a new feature will be put live “very soon” letting players create their own storylines within the superhero MMO.

“Similar in concept to our character creator, [the new feature] allows you, the players, to create missions and story arcs for your characters and others to participate in,” he wrote in a post on the game’s forums. “You’ll be able to pick the map, villain group, and objectives, as well as write the dialog and any clues needed for the missions.”

This custom mission creator will also feature community-based sharing and rating system. Players will be able to upload it to the game’s servers where others will be able to download and rate the stories. “Fame will come to the players whose stories rate the best overall,” he added.
