Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto has been voted Time Magazine’s most influential person of the year through a reader poll. He garnered almost two million votes from the readers of the magazine, thus topping the list. Miyamoto is famed for creating the legendary characters Mario and Zelda, as well as countless games based on them and more.

Miyamoto was followed by Korean pop singer Rain in second place, with comedian Stephen Colbert coming in at the third spot. The fourth and fifth places are taken up by Heidi Klum and Tyra Banks, respectively.
