Penumbra On Mac and Linux; Unbirth Alpha Code Released
Frictional Games sent out word that their horror-adventure title Penumbra: Black Plague is now available for Mac and Linux gamers. The full version of the game can be purchased for $19.99 from their website.
Mac gamers will need minimum OS X 10.4, a 1.5GHz processor and 512 MB RAM. Hardware requirements for Linux are basically the same, though the Linux distribution will have to be kernel 2.6 or higher and support X11R6 with 3D acceleration.
Additionally, they have released Unbirth, a project which Thomas Grip, the creator of Penumbra and founder of Frictional Games, worked on. Though the game was never finished due to various reasons, they have released the working code of the game, allowing programmers insight into the history of the ideas and design choices that was an inspirational source in the creation of Penumbra.
