Virtual Events in Home
PlayStation Home is shaping up to be quite a spectacle as Sony Computer Entertainment sent out word that it plans to implement a virtual event space within the upcoming title. According to Sony, the “online Media & Events Space can be re-dressed and re-branded just like a real-life venue,” noting that internal beta testers had participated in a recreation of the PlayStation Day that took place on May 6, complete with streaming video speeches and whatnot.
SCE noted that the test was a success and that “Home will now start scheduling more elaborate and exciting productions for the Space.” The company further added that it will be available for use by both first and third parties.
The social networking title will be released as a free download for PS3 owners when it goes into beta this Fall. The release date eludes me.
