Rumor Smash: No 90 Minute MGS4 Cutscenes, "Special Surprise" Coming

On June 6th, 2008 in Uncategorized -

xbox360metalgearsolid4-2 Squashing past rumors, Metal Gear Solid 4 associate producer Ryan Payton revealed that there won’t be “90 minute cut-scenes” in the game. “The ending is long, but 90 minutes is a gross exaggeration,” he said. “And here I thought gamers liked long endings!”

The rumor originates from CVG, but was later denied by GamePro reviewer Sid Shuman, though fuel was added to the fire by MTV’s games blog which reported that Konami had placed restrictions on reviewers regarding details of the game.

However, there’s more in store for gamers, as Payton also revealed that the game requires an eight minute initial install, as well as a number of “two to three-minute installs between acts.”

Finally, he added that there is a “special surprise” in store for gamers once the game is released on June 12 exclusively for the PS3.
