Buy Old Capcom Games on eBay for Revival of Favorite Franchise

On June 13th, 2008 in Uncategorized -

capcom_logo_black How do you get publishers to know what games you want to have remade? Simple, buy classic titles for high prices off eBay! Capcom frequently consults the popular internet auction site to assess the market for possible remakes or ports, revealed product manager John Diamonon.

“To choose titles to revive, we see if we can give old franchises the modern touch, and we evaluate the fanbase and see if there’s a market for it,” he told MTV. “Sometimes we see games on eBay, and that’s how you see what games people are willing to spend $80 on.”

He stressed that prices on eBay aren’t the only means of gauging consumer demand – the company also consults its own fan community and looks at GameSpot poll results, among other things.
