Creative Assembly, the studio behind the Total War series, has revealed Stormrise, a console-exclusive real-time strategy game for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Mandatory to all console strategy games, Stormrise will offer a simple control scheme that will apparently “revolutionize” the genre. The game will also offer multiple layers of combat – air, surface and underground – that will set it apart from its console brethren.

“Stormrise has been built from the ground up specifically for high def consoles to provide a more intense, frenetic style of game that, coupled with the all new control mechanic, will revolutionise the way RTS games are played,” claimed publisher Sega.

The game is expected sometime next year. More information is expected at next week’s E3.
