Nintendo Storage Mainstream Concern Says Reggie

July 24th, 2008

After a Nintendo rep pissed off a fair number of people by insisting that only ‘geeks and otaku’ are concerned over the Wii’s low storage capacity the company is quickly realizing that this wasn’t only insulting, it was also extremely incorrect. President of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime has said that the storage issue has been a concern for some time and they are working on several options to fix it.

With the growing number of Virtual Console titles and the launch of Wiiware, many Wii owners are going to find a dilemma on their hands; stick with the games they’ve already downloaded or delete some to make space for new titles. Given that each title costs money, it seems illogical that Nintendo wouldn’t figure out some storage device they could sell you that would then allow you to purchase more of their products. Given that the problem has been officially recognized we should be seeing a solution in the near future. My guess as far as a release date? Right around Christmas time.
