Further speaking at QuakeCon, Carmack announced that the multiplayer modes in Doom 4 will be significantly better than the modes found in its predecessor or Quake 4. Carmack hopes to have enough resources to create a satisfying online component to match the game’s single-player campaign.
“[Doom 4 multiplayer] will not be as good of a multiplayer as Quake Live is, but it should still be good, and we will intend it to be better than Doom 3 or Quake 4 multiplayer,” he said.
