While he’s often seen playing characters who are more unassuming looking in films like Donnie Darko or Brokeback Mountain, there’s no doubt that Jake Gyllenhall is looking buff enough to pull off the look of the Prince in the Prince of Persia film set to debut in 2010. The film has just begun shooting on location in Morocco with Mike Newell of Donnie Brasco and the fourth Harry Potter film at the helm. Let’s hope that for Ben Kingsley’s sake this film turns out better than Bloodrayne. Check out the full shots here.

They certainly seem to have a handle on the style, let’s hope the substance turns out to be there as well. From what I understand the plot seems more or less accurate (I never played the game, don’t hurt me please) with Jake Gyllenhall playing Dastan, a prince who must prevent an evil nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time and thus being able to rule the world.
