Rush Hour Director Wants to Make Guitar Hero Film

04_ratner_lgl Surely a Guitar Hero film would be entirely silly? If you don’t think so, then Brett Ratner, the man behind Rush Hour and X-Men 3, may be just the person for you, as he is hoping to make a film based on Guitar Hero one day.

“I would love to do a Guitar Hero movie, if Activision would ever let me,” said the director. “I’m trying to convince them, but why would you have a movie screw up such a huge franchise?”

“Not that I would make a bad movie,” he added. “It could be about a kid from a small town who dreams of being a rock star and he wins the Guitar Hero competition. One of these dreams-[come-true] kind of concepts.”

Ratner is currently slated to direct the film adaptation of God of War, Sony’s deity-slaying action franchise. No word on when the film starts shooting, though.
