Nintendo To Make $1.6 Million Per Employee
While the global economy continues to teeter on the brink of catastrophic failure, the video game industry continues to thrive. Nintendo has had an unprecedented level of success since the launch of both the DS and the Wii. They have both influenced and benefited from the massive upswing in the popularity of gaming.
According to a report from Financial Times the gaming giant has beaten the profit-per-employee numbers of powerhouse companies like Google and Goldman Sachs. The report estimates that the search engine company made $626k per employee while the investment firm pulled in only $1.24 million.
Nintendo keeps their success high by outsourcing manufacturing and game development, as well as keeping employment costs down. While the average pay at Goldman Sachs is upwards of $600k, the average Nintendo employee makes $90k per year.
