250px-Call_of_Duty_5_cover_art Backtracking on comments made by Activision, Call of Duty: World at War developer Treyarch explained that there won’t be any “day one” DLC for the game, additionally noting that the alleged “Day 1 Advantage” DLC that would allow users to buy experience points for the game, is not actually true and does not exist. Here’s what they said:

Mentions about Day 1 content are actually a reference to what the marketing guys have been calling a “Day One Advantage” or a “Tactical Edge,” a program we have going with Gamestop. Users who pre-order Call of Duty World at War with Gamestop, or who buy the collector’s edition from them, will get immediate access to a high-level rifle (for pre-orders) or LMG (for collector’s edition) that other players will have to unlock via ranking up in multiplayer.

Treyarch is calling the whole thing a “misunderstanding”, assuring gamers that they won’t be getting pwned by n00bs just because they could buy their way to the top.
