Kirbys Fill The Air For Game Promotion
While lacking some of the versatility of Nintendo’s flagship character Mario, Kirby has always been a strong presence in the company’s game library. One might even say that Kirby’s adventures pioneered the super-cute style that is prevalent today. From fuzzy-looking bears to laser-beam-eye baddies the denizens of Dreamland have always looked ripe for cuddling. Even the original arch-nemesis of the pink puff, King Deedeedee, seems adorable at times.
Nintendo is using this cutesy star power to promote their remake of the classic Super Nintendo title Kirby Super Star (now a DS title called Kirby Super Star Ultra) in a rather unusual way. They’re releasing thousands of tiny Kirby soap-bubble clouds that will be floating over a handful of locations bearing the fluffy hero’s name. They’re made of pink colored, environmentally friendly soap bubbles and lighter than air gas. The title releases in three days in the USA, so pick it up in stores on the 22nd.
