RE5 Co-op Outlined
If you’re lucky enough to be attending the Tokyo Game Show you could be one of the first to get your hands on the co-op mode in Resident Evil 5. If not you’ll just have to settle for whatever videos get posted and the news blurbs that make their way to the net.
Resident Evil 5 will feature co-op play which is relatively new for the series. As often happens in games, the new character is merely a backup. Any female gamers hoping to step into the shoes of special agent Shiva will have to play online with a friend. When playing single player you’ll be forced to play as Chris Redfield, and whoever is hosting online co-op will be Redfield with their friend playing the other character.
The game is about 75% to completion according to producer Jun Takeuchi. The actual content is at about 99% and the rest of the time til the title’s release will be spent on polishing the gameplay.
