Photo, Video Sharing Can be Added to New X360 Dashboard
Microsoft is thinking of implementing streaming media in its New Xbox Experience, which is due out November 19. On MTV Multiplayer is word that Microsoft just might add photo and video sharing features, noting that the new dashboard is fully server-based, and that new features and applications can be easily added by Microsoft without issuing a patch.
“You know, we talked about photo sharing,” said Xbox senior strategist Rob Gruhl. “That’s something that, hey, if we want to do photo sharing, we just build that app, drop it in, party enable it and we’re good to go. If we wanted to do movie sharing, build an app, party enable it, drop it in. Really, it’s [the new dashboard] just laying the foundation for our next wave, our next step. Continuing to fill it out, continuing to build it.”
The new Xbox 360 dashboard sounds more and more awesome day by day. Let’s hope Sony can keep up.
