Rumor: Sony May be Offering Real-world Rewards Based on Trophies

Offering an interesting perspective on the whole achievements/trophy thing, Sony may try to offer real-world rewards based on players’ trophies, according to a rumor from the Official PlayStation Magazine.
"We’ve heard that SCEA is mulling over some sort of Trophy reward system," reads the magazine. They suggest that while it won’t be cash, it might be access to exclusive betas and the like.
If true, it would seem a nice move to truly reward those die-hard gamers who can actually collect those damn trophies.
