Universal Faces Dante’s Inferno

Remember the bidding war between movie studios for the rights to develop a movie adaptation of EA’s take on Dante’s Inferno, a classic piece of literature? Well, the winner has been announced, and Universal takes the cake.
Universal Pictures will develop and distribute the film, with game creator Jonathan Knight and EA VP Patrick O’Brien being closely involved with the adaptation. It will be produced by Children of Men producers Eric Newman and Marc Abraham.
Meanwhile, the game is yet to be shown to the press and gamers themselves. It will most certainly focus on the hell-traversing sections of the poem and is expected on unknown platforms next year.
