Japanese developer Square Enix has revealed that it is working on an action game that is being developed at a studio in Los Angeles.

“Square Enix is building a studio from the ground up. We are making an action-oriented original IP game here in sunny Los Angeles,” reads the company’s careers page.

The publisher is hiring programmers, marketers and testers, among many others, for its LA office. Most interesting is that they are looking for software engineers with Xbox 360 experience, suggesting that the game in question will be headed to Microsoft’s white box.

This comes as part of a recent trend in Japanese companies making it to the west. On the flipside, major American publishers like EA are hopping across the ocean to interact with the Japanese.
