Sony: Trophy Support Mandatory from January 2009

VideoGamer carries confirmation from Sony Computer Entertainment America that any PS3 game released after January 2009 will be required to have Trophy support.
Similar to Xbox 360’s Achievements, the Trophy system rewards gamers for doing certain actions in games. It was made available as part of the July PS3 firmware update.
Some older PS3 games like Uncharted and Burnout Paradise have had Trophy support patched in, but a majority of the games in the market don’t support the feature.
