Fallout 3 Getting Content Editor, DLC

November 25th, 2008

Bethesda has announced that they’re releasing several rounds of content for their post-nuclear RPG Fallout 3. First there’s the Garden of Eden Creation Kit, or GECK as it’s referred to in the series. While this won’t truly allow you to create a paradise out of disaster if there’s a nuclear holocaust in the real world, you can use it to create a paradise in the Fallout 3 universe- or whatever you want. The GECK is the official editor for the game so enterprising fans can create their own cities, quests, monsters, etc. It will be available for download for Windows Life users starting in December.

There are three content packs coming next year, the first of which is exclusive to the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game. There’s no word on pricing for any of the content packs yet, with the exception of the GECK editing tools, which are free.

Operation: Anchorage. Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe – the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders. An action-packed battle scheduled for release in January.
The Pitt. Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh. Choose your side. Scheduled for release in February.
Broken Steel. Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest. Scheduled for release in March.
