It was previously reported that Nintendo would be barring second-hand sales of the Wii Speak accessory by giving first-time buyers channel codes only. The company recently took time to clarify their statement, claiming that second-hand buyers of the microphone peripheral can request a free download code to access the Wii Speak channel.

“Any consumer who may have misplaced their Wii Download Ticket number for the Wii Speak Channel or require a new number following a Wii exchange may contact their local Nintendo Customer Services department, where they can request a replacement Wii Download Ticket number,” said a Nintendo spokesperson.

The accessory goes on sale soon and will allow gamers on the console to talk trash with each other.
