Famous DJ Not Connected To Activision Game

On December 18th, 2008 in Uncategorized -

There’s only so many musical simulation games left to make. They’ve done singing, drumming, guitar playing and dancing. Since nobody wants to see a “Sleazy Record Producer Hero” game, there’s really only one left: DJing. It has been known for a while, if not officially announced that Activision is in the process of developing a DJ Hero game.

Recently a press release announced that there’d be a special version of the title that would get some significant star power. According to the release DJ Hero was to be accompanied at launch by a DJ Tiesto version of the title in the summer of 2009. The story first appeared in the forum section of a third party site and was picked up by various news websites, so much so that it was started to be accepted as truth.

The DJ has come out saying that this press release was completely fake: “There has been a lot of talk concerning an alleged quote from Tiesto about being involved in Activision’s possible DJ Hero video game. This information was based on a fictitious news items, posted on a third party online forum.” The statement also said that DJ Tiesto had “never given a quote” on the game. Interestingly, the statement never denies the content of the press release, just asserts that it’s a fake.
