Activison Looking For “Bullshotter”

I’m not sure if the term was actually coined by the fabled Gabe and Tycho of Penny Arcade, but the word “Bullshot”, describing a screenshot that’s been doctored to make the game look better than the actual finished product will be, is a good one. Quite often it’s a huge disappointment to see early shots of a game that look amazing, only to find the actual in-game graphics buggy, slow moving and generally lackluster.

This nefarious technique was always considered one of those ‘poorly-kept-secrets’ of the video game industry. Everyone knew about it, but the developers were polite enough to keep it under wraps. At least until now. Activision has put a posting on Gamasutra advertising an opening for an “Art Services Screenshot Associate”. Many of the duties underlined are legitimate but they also say the ideal candidate will need to ‘perform advanced retouching of screenshots’.
