At Feral Interactive’s Macworld Expo booth at Macworld this Friday, staff were wearing some interesting apparel. The back of their shirts featured a picture of Big Daddy from the first person shooter BioShock. Macworld reporter Chris Holt asked the Feral Interactive representatitives, and they confirmed that the game will be heading to the Mac.
We’ve contacted Feral Interactive and are currently awaiting a response.
Update: Feral Interactive declined to comment on the rumor. It is to be noted that there was a smiley face accompanied with the response.
Neversoft has confirmed that they are no longer working with the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. Joel Jewett, one of the founders of the developer, said in an interview: “It’s probably best for the franchise … it’s time for someone else to add fresh ideas to it,” Neversoft is currently working on Guitar Hero as its main franchise.
It has been hinted in the past that the developer to take on the game will be independent Chicago-based Robomodo. It was formed specifically to work on a “high-profile extreme sports title for Activision Blizzard.” The company is currently seeking to fill several job positions on its webpage.
Graphics and CPU maker AMD is planning a big supercomputer for cloud rendering. The supercomputer, titled Fusion Render Cloud, will consist of at least 1,000 Radeon HD 4870 graphics cards.
AMD claims that the supercomputer cloud deliver games and other 3D intensive applications to computers and even mobile phones, where the games will be rendered in the cloud, as opposed to rendering them on the phones, which are usually weak for the complex animations and renders. In addition, AMD claims that even movie CGI rendering will be possible on the new system.
Capcom has blessed us with this beautiful high definition trailer of Street Fighter 4, featuring a sick bout between Akuma and Gouken.
The fighter has already debuted in Japanese arcades since July, but console versions will be released worldwide in February. The PC version will be out the second quarter of this year.
In contrast to GameStop’s successful financial reports, Best Buy’s game software revenues have been in the decline. In an issued statement, the electronic retailer had this to say:
“Video gaming comparable store sales declined by the mid single digits, primarily due to a shift toward software and reduced sales of large-ticket consoles, as well as comparisons with strong results in the prior year’s period.”
Following the low sales of Tomb Raider: Underworld, Eidos is now considering revising Lara Croft’s design. The publisher hopes to go for a more “female-friendly” look for a wider appeal.
Robert Brent, chief financial officer for Eidos, had this to say: “We need to look at everything, as we develop the next game. Look at how Batman changed succesfully, from the rather sad character of the Michael Keaton era to the noir style of The Dark Knight.”
Full-year revenue for the company has been significantly lowered, ranging from 160 to 180 million pounds, rather than 180 to 200 million.
Check out the video above for some weekend Wii action. Sixense showed everyone at CES 2009 the TrueMotion gaming controller. It’s a whole new Wii dimension so to speak. Future in the making, TrueMotion will get a better gaming experience. TrueMotion uses a base station which creates an electromagnetic field around the gamer. That will get you a more responsive, more precise experience. TrueMotion will be available later this year and it will cost $100.
After you’ve finished slashing on that Wolverine site you might be interested to see this new site dedicated to Final Fantasy XIII. By the way, where do one stops the music from playing?
You can see some of those screenshots you’re craving for. Characters are also to be found there and there’s a Trailers link that won’t work for now. Besides turning off the music I’d love to change the language too. Maybe Square Enix is going to improve the site in the near future. At least we get to see some of those real screenshots.
Well I know I almost fell off my chair when I checked out the new X-Men Origins: Wolverine website. But really Wolverine is it fair that you’re getting all the attention? I mean the movie should be coming and the game too. What will the other X-Men say? Coincidentally I always preferred Wolverine from the bunch but that doesn’t necessarily mean I also like the idea of having a movie centered around him.
Moving on to more important business, if you start slashing that title you will notice the counter on top. What’s the purpose of that counter you ask? Good question! According to the press release, the Raven team will make some sort of announcement when they the number up there is high enough. Should I read between the lines there? Did they finish the game or not? Is it going to be released soon? What about that movie?
So anyway, which X-Men character would you like to be? Check the site here and the picture above for some Wolverine previews.
