While it was already known that Reisdent Evil 5 would feature various online modes, it was recently made known that it will feature jump-in, jump-out co-op throughout the entire game.
Sounds cool, right? Check out the above video to see it in action.
Capcom’s Resident Evil 5 will hit shelves for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on March 13th of this year.
It was recently confirmed by Capcom in a recent issue of Famitsu that the online servers for their upcoming Street Fighter IV will in fact be worldwide. This theoretically means that if a player in Japan wanted to go up against a player in the US, they could do so with little hassle, let’s just see how the latency holds up.
That’s not all though as Capcom also let loose that the PS3 version of the game will be coming with exclusive anime intros for the different characters in arcade mode. Sounds cool.
Street Fighter IV is currently in the final stages of development by Capcom and will hit shelves stateside Feburary 17th, and Feburary 20th in Europe.
The game isn’t even out yet and developer Ensemble Studios is already talking about unleasing DLC after the games release.
This news comes to us from an interview done with the game’s lead producer, Jason Pace. Snippets from the interview include “We are committed to supporting the franchise,” but “there’re no definite plans yet.” However, whether he ment to hint at DLC or not he continued on to say “additional downloadable content is something we’re looking in to.”
Well Ensemble, or whatever your new studio’s name is, let’s just make sure you made a gamer-friendly console RTS. We’ll talk about DLC after that.
It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard anything about Link and his adventures in Hyrule, but buzz circulating the internet suggests that may change soon enough.
Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo, will give the companies keynote address at GDC in 2009 and chances are we will be hearing something of a new Zelda. This rumor surfaces from various observations:
It has already been made known that there is a new Zelda in the works and Nintendo’s release schedule for late 2009 isn’t exactly chalk full of games (see: bare).
These observations coupled with the fact that hit releases like LittleBigPlanet and Gears of War 2 have made their debut at the conference point to Nintendo announcing a new Zelda. I guess we will have to wait and see when GDC 2009 rolls around this March.
It seems Harmonix is getting ready to kick production into overdrive as it was recently reported that by years end they are expecting to have a library of up to and over 5,000 songs.
Seems a bit high, considering the game has been out for over a year and has just recently passed the milestone of 500 songs, doesn’t it?
To fulfill MTV’s prediction 4,500 songs would have to be released in 2009 alone, you do the math.
There’s nothing more frustrating than when the free press gives voice to one person’s paranoid conspiracy theories. Recently there’s been a big hubbub about a doll that supposedly in its cooing and gurgling says “Islaam is the light”. Now a mother is reporting that the same ‘hidden message’ is put inside a game called Baby Pals developed by Crave.
Anyone who’s been gaming for a decent length of time will occasionally recognize a sound effect that’s been used in multiple things. On occasion I find myself watching a film or television show and recognizing a familiar creaky wooden door opening sound that I first heard in Daggerfall, the second of the ‘Elder Scrolls’ series. In the sixties and seventies people were horrified to discover that when you played certain records in reverse they contained “hidden messages” which were simply gibberish that overactive imaginations filled in with their own meanings.
The most amazing part of the video clip is that the news agency hints that somehow Nintendo is responsible for this, saying that although it was created by a third party the game was ‘licensed’ by Nintendo. Which of course means that the Japan-based company is part of a secret underground Muslim conspiracy.
Two early hits for the Xbox 360 were zombie slaying sandbox game Dead Rising and Lost Planet. Dead Rising is rising again as a somewhat altered Wii port and Lost Planet has been released for the PS3 as well. Now early reports from Japan are saying that multiplatform sequels for both games are in the works.
These reports come from Keiji Inafune of Capcom by way of monthly gaming magazine Famitsu Xbox 360. He says that being multiplatform is a guarantee for the ‘super sequels’ but they’re considering giving a bonus to Xbox 360 owners who buy the titles for that platform.
Have you ever wondered what Mirrors Edge would look like had it been developed with a third-person view in mind? Well then you probably shouldn’t watch the above video.
But, if you’ve wondered what the current Mirrors Edge would look like with a third-person view, then watch on.
You too can experience all of the game’s glory in third-person using the below method:
“Go to ‘Documents\EA Games\Mirror’s Edge\TdGame\Config\’
Press F4 a few times. First you get the free cam (noclip) and later the third person cam.”
As you can see upon utilizing this method Faith goes from a lean mean parkour machine to a stiff-figure who looks like shes performing the shimmy when she runs so this is probably one of those use for 5-minutes for a kick then toss it-deals.
The Wii version of Rockband has been playing catch-up with the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 for some time now, and this week that gap gets a bit smaller.
6 new songs (to the Wii at least) have been added at 200 Wii Points a peice:
“Attack” – 30 Seconds to Mars
“Gimme Three Steps” – Lynrd Skynrd
“Live Forever” – Oasis
“Just What I needed” – The Cars
“Siva” – Smashing Pumpkins
“Tell Me Baby” – Red Hot Chili Peppers
Maybe by the time Rockband 3 is out the Wii Rockband will have the full song list featured in it’s Xbox 360 and PS3 counterparts. We can only hope…
