Guerilla Games’ Killzone 2 is still a good 10 days away from a North American launch but already rumors are circulating the internet about DLC. It is pretty much a given that some sort of DLC will be released for the game, but what exactly is it?

Well, if rumors are to be believed, an in-game store is to be added to the game (a la Metal Gear Solid 4) that is expected to house things like clothes and such for the multiplayer mode. Other than that, rumors are pointing towards a retro pack that will include maps from the original game, along with packs containing all new packs.

Don’t get your hopes up yet, however, as this is all still a rumor. But again, it can be generally accepted that Guerilla Games will definitly release some sort of Killzone 2 DLC after the games release.

Valve has recently announced the release of a new patch for the PC versions of both Team Fortress 2 and Day of Defeat: Source.

It’s not much, but it’s still good to know. Just restart your Steam client, download the patch, wait for it to install, and you’re good to go!

Patch list below:

Team Fortress 2

  • Sticky bombs now get a reduced close range damage ramp up (like Rocket Launcher & Syringe Gun)
    • Ultimately reduces damage done by sticky bombs to enemies <512 units from the Demoman
  • Moved the unlockable system over to the new item backend:
    • Added a warning dialog to the loadout screen telling clients when the server they’re on could not get their loadout
  • Made “tf_damage_disablespread” a replicated convar, so clients can see the value of it on the server they’re connected to
  • Renamed “mp_stalemate_at_timelimit” to “mp_match_end_at_timelimit”, to better explain its function now that stalemate is optional
  • Fixed muzzle flashes & shell ejections still playing when viewmodels are hidden
  • Server tags can now be used to include or exclude servers from the list

Team Fortress 2 and Day of Defeat: Source

  • Protected several more commands from client exploitation

Apparently when the original Atari was in turmoil, circa 1990, they had no choice but to sell their entire backcatalog of game cartridiges, 3 million strong, to O’Shea Ltd.

But then, what did O’Shea do with them?

Well, they put them in a 20,000sqft warehouse that was carved out of a limestone cave. Sounds weird? You betcha’.

So far, 2 million have been sold which means 1 million is left in that cave for the public to buy. Why don’t you head over to O’Shea’s website and check it out, maybe they have a game you are interested in?

Ever since 2K Games’ BioShock hit the shelves it was regarded as a huge success garnering high scores across the board. Well, if it did so well on your conventional video game consoles, and the PC, why not bring it to the mobile phone?

The above footage of BioShock Mobile(?) was taken at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona. Apparently, there will be two different versions of the game- a 2D version and a 3D version, obviously tailoring to the different hardware capabilites of phones.

When will it be out? According to Pocketgamer, soon.

Chances are if you’re big on gaming on mobile phones, and other devices, you’ve probably played a game that Gameloft had a part in developing.

“At Gameloft, we believe that consumers are uncompromising,” said Michel Guillemot, President of Gameloft. “They want the best games for the mobile phone or console in their pocket or at home. They also want immediate access at the lowest cost. We channel our creativity and our determination into creating entertainment that corresponds to their expectations and their need for diversion. That includes adapting it to their lifestyle and their budget.

The mega-mobile publisher has recently announced that since their origin in 2003, they have sold over 200 million games, none too shabby. They attribute most of their 2008 success to Apple’s App Store which stocks games for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

I don’t know about your experiences with MadCatz, but I’ve owned a few N64 Racing Wheels, countless controllers, and a PS2 DDR pad all manufactured by MadCatz, and I must say, they all sucked.

It looks like MadCatz is continuing their traditional of making garbage gaming peripherals as Joystiq readers are reporting that their StreetFighter IV FightSicks aren’t working like they should.

MadCatz, however, said to Joystiq that it’s normal a few (read: a lot) peripherals are defective. They are even urging owners of defective sticks to call MadCatz for repair.

At least you’re trying MadCatz, at least you’re trying.

Joystiq has recently gotten word from Capcom that they are preparing to launch a line of game-branded Visa debit cards.

Entitled the Capcom Unity Card, this “rechargable” debit card will feature Capcom games like Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV. Apparantly for every 1 dollar you put on the Unity Card you will get 5 Capcom Unity Points.

Capcom has things like raffles, contests, and other rewards to spend our Unity Points on in the works. The official website for the card is set to be www.capcom-unity-card.com but it has apparently not gone live yet, currently showing a blank page.

The story of the Afro Samurai is a long and tortuous one.

Basically, in a Japan that’s gone so far ahead it’s come back around to feudalism but with robots, Afro (named for the huge afro he wears) wears the Number Two headband, a headband supposedly imbued with magical powers.  There’s also a Number One headband, and its powers are allegedly godlike in nature.  But the only person who can kill the current owner of the Number One headband take it for his own is whoever happens to have the Number Two headband, so the Number Two headband is the most prized object on earth, in a roundabout sense.

Afro’s father, if you can believe it, was the old Number One, until he was defeated in a duel by Justice, a gunman and former Number Two who, as is the case, became the new Number One.  Afro witnessed his father’s death—a particularly messy one, since Justice took Afro’s father’s head off.  Thus, Afro, the current Number Two, wanders in search of a chance for revenge on Justice (who, in case you were wondering, is still Number One).
