No pricing details were announced.

DICE today confirmed that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is in development, as well as Battlefield 1943, the sequel to the legendary shooter. The games were revealed by EA CEO John Riccitiello a few days ago.
The company confirmed that Bad Company 2 will be released on PC alongside PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. They also promised a “level of fervor to vehicular warfare never before experienced in a modern warfare action game.”
While Bad Company 2 isn’t expected until next year, those looking to get their Battlefield fix will wait no more than summer when Battlefield 1943 will be released.
It will be a downloadable multiplayer-only title coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. There will be support for 24 player action and three classic Battlefield locations – Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.
Hoping to monetize the mass Street Fighter 4 hysteria once the game is released, Capcom today announced its plans for post-release content, noting that it will offer a steady stream of costume packs as well as a Championship Mode Expansion pack.
The Championship Mode expansion will be free; no release date was given though. It will offer a Replay Mode, letting gamers record, upload and download top matches to share with the SFIV community. There will be a new points system and enhanced tournament matching system.
Five costume packs containing alternative outfits for five characters will be released weekly for 320 Microsoft points ($3.99). The first will be available starting February 17.
Publisher Capcom sent out word that Bionic Commando will be released for PS3 and Xbox 360 this May. The game has been delayed from its original March release date.
As reported earlier, the PC version will be released “shortly” after the console versions are out. This is due to piracy concerns, as well as need for more polish due to a wide variety of hardware being used.
While no exact PC date was given, it is expected in the “following months”.
I am ashamed to say that I own the Transformers tie-in game that was released along with the film. The only reason it’s still lying in my games drawer along with much better titles is because its resale value is virtually nil. It seems that despite its poor quality and low review scores the game made a profit, because along with the upcoming Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen film Activision is publishing another tie-in game.
It’s being developer by Luxoflux for the Xbox 360, PS3 and by Beenox Studios for the PC. Krome studios is developing for the Wii and PS2, while Vicarious Visions is creating separate Autobot and Decepticon games for the DS. The PSP version is being developed by Savage Entertainment and is described as a ‘fast paced arcade action’ game. All the versions of the game will feature the various abilities of the wide range of robots in disguise including brawling action, vehicle combat and flying. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game will feature multiplayer modes as well, although if the game is as poorly crafted as the original it’s likely to be hard to find people to play with.
Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka formed a studio named Prope in 2006 and released its first game late last year – Let’s Tap – in Japan. Sega today announced that the unique Wii game will make its way to North America this summer.
Interestingly, the game is played without actually holding the Wii Remote. Players are instructed to place the Wii Remote on a flat surface and smack that surface to “play”.
The game features five modes, each with multiple levels and support for up to four players.
The Wii has had a difficult time with games aimed at the hardcore crowd. Many of the first games created for it were intended to utilize the gesture-based controls. Unfortunately the Wiimote isn’t yet capable of the true 1:1 controls that would make the sort of sword-swinging game many developers had in mind possible. After a deluge of shovelware minigame compilations hit the market we’re finally seeing some developers refocusing their ‘hardcore’ efforts on the Wii. For the most part they’re taking aim at the shooter market. Joining games like The Conduit and The House of the Dead: Overkill is Rogue Trooper: Quartz Zone Massacre.
It’s based on a UK scifi comic book series called 2000 AD whose premise sounds fairly standard: the player takes on the role of a genetically created super-soldier; the only survivor from a betrayed army who is now on a quest for revenge. Where the game’s true potential lies is in its gameplay. As you can imagine being only one soldier it’s not going to be easy to take on the hordes of enemies so there’s as much an emphasis on stealth, planning and strategy as accurate aiming. Your rifle, helmet and backpack are highly sophisticated and equipped with AI chips, containing the personalities of deceased comrades. You can utilize this gear to create diversions, lay mines or even deploy your rifle as an automated turret.
The game is set to release in Europe on the 27th of February, but no concrete release date exists for North America, simply a vague ‘Q1′.
