Nintendo announces 50 million Wiis shipped

At this years GDC, Nintendo has announced that the Wii has shipped 50 million units worldwide, which makes it the fastest selling home console in history. This makes good sense, as AMD recently revealed that they shipped 50 million Wii GPUs.
Wii shipments can be roughly distributed as: 23 million in North America, 17 million in Europe and 10 million in Japan and rest of Asia. Analysts expect the Wii to break the 60 million units sold this year.
