Sony has taken a new approach when it comes to securing exclusives to its PlayStation Network. The company will fund development of PSN games, and in return, require that they remain exclusive to the PlayStation Network.

The initiative, known as The Pub Fund, was announced yesterday during a GDC panel on self-publishing. Sony said that despite funding the development of the game, the developers will still own the IP. The first game to be funded by this initiative, Burn Zombie Burn, by developer Doublesix, is now available on PSN.
