Here it is, the official announcement from 2K that Bioshock 2 will be called just Bioshock 2 and not Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams.

While we though that the announcement to drop the Sea of Dream subtitle last month was official, 2K has flipflopped with the game’s title ever since.

Well, no more as 2K’s Charlie Sinhaseni told IGN in a recent statement:

“We name most of our trailers at 2K and the name of the teaser trailer we released last October for BioShock 2 is called ‘Sea of Dreams’. There was talk about adding that as an official subtitle, but we decided to simply keep it BioShock 2. We’re sorry for the confusion, but we’re glad people are so interested.”

In an interview with the founder of Double Fine Productions, Tim Schafer said that the developer is working on Brütal Legend for the Xbox 360 and PS3. However, according to Variety’s The Cut Scene, Electronic Arts is actually planning on having another developer work on the Wii version of the game. This is not an uncommon practice for publishers to undergo; multiplatform games sometimes have a separate developer for the Wii rendition of the game (e.g. Rock Band 2).

Electronic Arts has refused to comment on the rumor.
