The upcoming issue of Nintendo Power reveals that Ubisoft’s Red Steel 2 will support the new Wii Motion Plus add-on. The original Red Steel was a highly anticipated Wii launch title, but ultimately failed to live up to that hype; featuring clumsy controls, bad action and overall lack of polish.
The sequel however, promises to fix all those issue and then some, including added multiplayer support. Red Steel 2 is expected in stores this holiday season.
It was recently reported on Major Nelson’s blog that Microsoft has found and delt with a new batch of cheaters. Their offense? Using an exploit within Gears of War 2 to artificially boost their Gamerscores. Their sentence? A Gamerscore of 0.
This isn’t the first time Microsoft has had to step in to thwart cheaters in their attempt at a high Gamerscore. If you’ve been with us since March of last year, you’ll recognize a similar case.
Major Nelson also assures us that if you use ethical methods of obtaining your achievements, as in no cheating or glitching, you have nothing to worry about; your Gamerscore will not get reset accidentally.
After that leaked achivements list pointed at Marvel vs Capcom 2, it was only a matter of time until Capcom released an official announcement.
Well, that time is now and Capcom has announced that Marvel vs Capcom 2 will in fact be hitting Xbox Live and the Playstation Network sometime this summer. While the game won’t be getting a complete makeover a la Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, there will be an addition of an online matchmaking system along with a few visual tweaks.
You can check out the above video detailing the game’s return and check out the PSN exclusive demo when it hits this Thursday.
The above video has been circulating on the web showcasing what appears to be an iPhone, and iPod touch, rendition of Team17′s popular Worms franchise.
First only appearing as a rumor, Joystiq has since contacted the game’s developer for more information; the game, along with the video, is in fact real and Team17 will be publishing the game independently (read: no EA).
Unfortunately, they weren’t able to squeeze a release date or pricing out of the developer but we’ll keep you posted.
Remember Spore? The game that everyone thought was going to change the way we looked at the gaming industry in general? Yeah, well EA has finally taken the time to reveal some details regarding the game’s Galactic Adventures expansion that was first announced back in January.
In Galactic Adventure players will take the rank of Space Captain as they adventure the galaxy (ironic huh?) unlocking and collecting 30 new “game-changing items and accessories”.
And what’s a game without some sort of achievements, right? Players will be given a Creature Card, that showcases their ranking and accomplishments.
Yep, that’s all we have to go by for now, no release date or pricing.
Imagine waking up one morning only to find out that your hopes and dreams were smashed; a bit dramatic, but Atomic Games was quoted to have felt similiar when Konami told them they weren’t going to publish Six Days in Fallujah:
We were informed on Thursday night that Konami had decided to pull out of Six Days in Fallujah. This caught us by surprise. Development of the game had been progressing very well and on schedule. We would very much like the opportunity to complete the game.
Followers of the controversial title will be happy to hear that when contacted by Kotaku about whether or not they would find a new publisher, Atomic Games responded with “stay tuned”.
If you were one of those people who grew up reading Nancy Drew and find themselves watching unhealthy amounts of CSI, this game is for you.
Recently announced to be shipping for the Nintendo DS this winter, Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth puts you in the shoes of a prosecutor as he searches for evidence to support his various cases.
Capcom is saying that this game will feature more than 15 hours of gameplay broken down into various episodes. Each episode will feature a different case in which players will have to rake the crime scence for evidence and question witnesses using said evidence.
Sure, we learned that Dead Rising 2 would be getting a multiplayer component but what we really care about are the zombies and more importantly, how we take care of those zombies.
During a recent presentation featuring Dead Rising 2, Capcom exec Keiji Inafune explaied to us how the first game’s engine was only capable of rendering 500 zombies on the screen at once. This may seem like a lot but for the second game, Capcom set their sights much higher:
“With Dead Rising 1 we got 500 zombies, but with DR2 we have 7,000, so we could have done much better the first time”, Mr. Inafune was quoted to say
7,000 zombies on the screen at once, a bit overwhelming, don’t you think? Not to Inafune; while he knows that ridiculous amounts of zombies won’t necessarily make the game better, it opens up a whole new ball park in terms of destruction:
For example, in Tokyo subway it gets very crowded with many people. Imagine getting onto a bike in Tokyo subway with two chainsaws attached to it and cutting through all those people, it’s just something that feels really damn good!
Let’s just hope he was using this as an example for what is to come in Dead Rising 2 and not a look into his sick and twisted fantasies.
Ubisoft has released the soundtrack of the popular stealth-action game Assassin’s Creed.
It features 11 tracks from the game, all from the world-renowned Danish game composer Jesper Kyd (known for the Hitman series and many other games), and is now available on Amazon for $7.99 and iTunes for $9.99.
