The Alien and Predator franchises are the biggest sci-fi powerhouses to be created since Star Wars and Star Trek. Despite the huge let-down of the long anticipated Alien Versus Predator films, the continuing battle between the vicious aliens and the honorable predators (not to mention the humans getting caught in the middle) still delights fans.

We’re now getting the first details regarding a new Alien Versus Predator game which is being developed by Rebellion, the team who created the original 1999 classic. If you’ve played either of the other two games the overall setup won’t be surprising. Its a first person shooter with a different storyline for each species, though the events of each will swirl together and inform each other.

The marine will rely on his array of fancy gadgets and weapons to help him against the more numerous and physically superior creatures, the predator uses his own gadgets and hunting skills to survive while the alien uses stealth, superior senses and sheer single-minded fury. There will also be a three-way multiplayer mode with each species battling for superiority.

The game is a multiplatform release, with versions for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 all planned to release in early 2010.

Without saying anything, Sega has gone ahead and released an iPhone port of the original Sonic the Hedgehog.

When I say original I mean the Sonic the Hedgehog released in 1991 for the Sega Genesis. As you can vaguely see from the screenshot, you’ll control sonic using an onscreen dpad and set of facebuttons.

For those of you who want to check this out you’re going to have to pay the $5.99 as there is currently no trial version available in the App Store. Get on that, Sega.

Kotaku says the line will include Pokémon Diamond/Pearl themed tents, chairs, flashlights, sunglasses, and mini-tables.

It’s cool for the kids and all but from the looks of it that tent probably won’t be much use if you’re actually going camping.

Apple’s iTunes music store is a hit, thats no secret, Sony’s PSP, not so much. However, if sources are to be believed Sony may be planning their own version of iTunes made especially for the PSP.

CNET is behind this one so it’s certainly a credible rumor with the website stating that Sony has been talking to some record labels to see who may be interested with a PSP Music Store.

Now it’s nice and all that Sony is giving PSP owners another reason to, well, use their PSP but how about focusing on expanding the consoles game library? I mean, I don’t even know the last time I heard about a PSP game that I wanted to buy.
