Point Lookout First Impressions
Bethesda is wasting no time getting their two newest downloadable content packs for Fallout 3 underway. At E3 they’ve showcased a trailer that gives you a first look at Point Lookout, the next content pack to be released and it looks pretty impressive. It seems like you arrive on location via a boat or other conveyance and the overall landscape and atmosphere is very different than the rest of the Capital Wasteland.
If you can believe it, things in Point Lookout look even more gloomy and miserable than anywhere else. It seems life has continued in this swampy corner of the world and the trailer gives a sense of the sort of inbred mutated horror in films like The Hills Have Eyes. They seem to be going for a more tense, suspense driven experience with this content pack.
The trailer doesn’t seem to show any of the new equipment or weapons, but there’s plenty of landscape to see, most impressive is a seemingly abandoned mansion covered over with vines.
