Namco Bandai has revealed that the long awaited follow up to Tekken 5, Tekken 6 will be released this holidays season, more specifically: October 27.
In addition, Namco Bandai announced two pre order incentives. Those who buy the game bundled with the new fight stick controller, can get a wireless version of the controller if they pre-order. The fight stick bundle includes the controller, the game and an art book, and will be released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 for $150.
The second pre order deal is available at GameStop only, and gives those who pre order a free downloadable Penny Arcade “samurai pack”, which we mentioned here.
It might not have been the first game to bring blood and gore to the fledgling world of video game consoles, but Mortal Kombat did so in an incredibly stylistic way whose influence can still be felt years later. The series has been less than impressive in the last few years offerings however and many fans were unimpressed by Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Many companies like DC are protective of their characters and don’t want them being brutalized quite like the characters in the MK universe do to each other with every installment.
That and a desire to appeal to a more universal crowd left the title firmly ensconced in the “T for Teen” rating category. This time around they’re bringing things back to the “M for Mature” camp. Today series creator Ed Boon twittered: “”Motion capturing special moves & fatalities today… they are kind of sick !!”. He went on to insist that ”People want an M-rated MK… dammit we will give them an M-rated MK.” He said they didn’t know where the line was between M and AO, but they didn’t want to ‘kross’ it. (He used the K, not me.)
Nintendo has been showing off multicolored Wii’s ever since the console was still called a Nintendo Revolution. Well here we are almost 3 years after the console’s launch and still no multi-colored Wiis.
However, it seems Kotaku has gotten their hands on a few pictures of both the limited edition blue Wii-mote along with Black Wii Remotes, controllers and a Wii itself. These aren’t really slated for release but instead were shown off at the World Hobby Fair held in Tokyo last weekend.
Common Nintendo, bring these to the US, I want me a black Wii!
When Activision first announced that Tony Hawk Ride would feature a bundled skateboard controller, gamers everywhere rolled their eyes and pictured the peripheral collecting dust next to their Rock Band drums.
Well, according to Robomodo’s president, Joshua Tsui, you might want to keep the skateboard dusted off a bit longer:
It’s really important to us that when people buy this package that they understand that, right now we’re concentrating on Tony Hawk Ride, but we want to make sure that people have a good return on their investment so there are many games that are planned for this peripheral. We look at it less as a peripheral, as more of a platform. The obvious ones are snowboarding and surfing and such, but there are a lot of games that can be used with this board, and we’re really excited to start working on those.
Tony Hawk Ride will be released for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii later this year.
Please, oh please Robomodo, simulate the hoverboard found in Back to the Future and let us zoom around New York City. Please?
How funny would it be if you could have your Xbox 360 Avatar with a beer in its hand while wearing a man thong? Pretty damn funny, right? According to Microsoft, no, not funny at all.
The company has recently given the XNA developer community a list of rules that Avatars must abide by if the developers so choose to use them. The list encompasses pretty much everything you would think, no alcohol, tobacco, vulgarity, criminal acts, profanity, the works. However, the fact that they can’t and can’t have a personality shows that Microsoft is forming a connection between the Avatar and the player.
I don’t really blame Microsoft for this one because, as all Halo 3 Xbox Live players are sure to have found out, kids do use the service

I don’t know about you guys but I think I’ll have to side with Shia LaBeuof on this one, despite a few good titles nothing on the Wii has really caught my eye, that’s why I’m so excited for The Conduit. It looks to push the graphical capabilities of the Wii along with providing top notch first person gameplay.
Well, it seems Sega has found it fitting to provide The Conduit with a television ad as its June 23rd release date draws ever closer. Wait, that’s tomorrow!
Please excuse us for the poor quality video, we will provide you with a better one as it becomes available.
Now I’m not one to follow celebrities but ever since Even Stevens, Shia LaBeuof has been hailed as one of my favorite actors. You may know it from Transformers along with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Anyways, during a recent interview with Big Download when questioned about the Wii the actor responded:
“I don’t mess with the Wii, to be honest with you. It’s kind of an amateur console. I’m not into the Wii thing.” And went out to say, “a simple way you can find out if it’ts a game you want to play with. Ask them if they have a Wii. If they say yes, get the f*** out of there.”
Most gamers will probably agree that the Wii isn’t the most hardcore of consoles but with it’s $250 price tag and games like Zelda, Super Smash, andMario it doesn’t leave hardcore gamers in the dust.
Earlier this month Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer was caught stating that a new Xbox 360 console will be released in 2010 sporting a built-in camera and a new interface. Shortly after, Microsoft proceeded to say that the executive was mistaken and that there will be no new console in 2010.
Well, it looks like Ballmer is back this time apologizing for his “misleading” statement saying, “I confused the issue with my poorly chosen words. There is no news in my comments. Things are as reported after E3. Sorry”.
Natal hopefuls need not be discouraged as the motion-sensing camera is still (presumably) slated for a release sometime in 2010. As for a new Xbox console? Probably not.
Despite Activision’s threats directed towards the Playstation platforms in which they said they will drop the PS3 unless Sony issues a price cut, things are looking a bit different on Capcom’s side of things.
When asked if Capcom will stop supporting the Playstation, community manager Shawn Baxter was quoted to have said:
I don’t see that happening. Monster Hunter has sold over 8.5 million on the PSP worldwide.
With popular franchises like Monster Hunter and Street Fighter stirring up all sorts of interest on the Playstation 3 it’s no wonder that Capcom looks to stay in the game. I mean, there are over 20 million PS3 users worldwide, it’s almost a no brainer.
GTA: Chinatown Wars had somewhat of a lackluster launch when it was released exclusively for the Nintendo DS on March 17th of this year. To make up for a poor performance Rockstar will turn to the PSP hoping that those who bought titles like GTA: Liberty CityStories will find Chinatown Wars a good experience.
However, the PSP version of Chinatown Wars won’t be a direct port as new story missions along with enhanced graphics will be featured.
There’s no telling when the Rockstar Leeds developed PSP version of GTA: Chinatown Wars will hit shelves but according to Yahoo! News it will be released in both a physical UMD form and over the PlayStation Network for PSP Go users.
