Despite being based on a movie of the same name, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is definitly shaping up to be a great game. Included above is a video walkthrough showcasing the multiplayer component featured in the game.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will apparently feature 5 different multiplayer modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Team Leader, Control Points and Battle for the Shards. Featured in the video is Control Points which looks to be a King of the Hill, Territories type game mode.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be out for the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, PC, Wii and Nintendo DS on June 23rd.
Yes you read that right, despite the DSi’s availability Nintendo has announced that they will be offering a Professor Layton DS Lite bundle in the UK on June 19th.
The bundle will include a black Nintendo DS Lite along with a copy of Professor Layton and the Curious Village. There is really no telling why Nintendo decided to throw a DS Lite into this bundle instead of the newer DSi but who cares, at least the box looks cool.
On a different note, Nintendo is gearing up to drop this game’s sequel, Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box sometime this September.
If you are a fan of Metal Gear Online, which was bundled with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot, you will be happy to hear that it will be recieving an update at a currently unannounced time.
While the announcement is entirely in Japanese, we do know that the update will be entitled Scene Expansion and include a new multiplayer map called Icebound Inferno. You may recognize Icebound Inferno as it closely resembles the Shadow Moses level found in Metal Gear Solid 4. Additionally, Scene Expansion will give players the chance to choose Old Snake as an online playable character.
There’s no word on when the Scene Expansion update will hit for Metal Gear Online but we will be sure to keep you posted.
No, you aren’t going to get an exclusive Section 8 demo if you pre-order the game from GameStop like Madden NFL 10, but you will be getting some exclusive in-game content.
Taken from the game’s GameStop product listing page is the following description:
Reserve Section 8 and receive GameStop exclusive Captain’s Armor for both Section 8 and their adversaries – the Arm of Orion. If you choose to play as a Captain of Section 8, you’ll proudly wear the Imperial Eagle of the USIF on your shoulder plate; as a Captain of the Arm of Orion, you’ll stand out with the rampant Lion of Orion emblazoned on your helmet and gold trim on your power armor. If only we could wear this to prom, we’d get all the ladies.
Section 8 is currently in development over at TimeGate Studios and will hit shelves for the Xbox 360 and PC on August 28th of this year.
Mega-game-retailer GameStop has recently announced that those who pre-order Madden NFL 10 for either the Xbox 360 or PS3 will get access to an exclusive demo towards the end of July. Regardless of when you pre-order the game the demo codes won’t be made available until July 15th. Said demo will feature 4 5-minute quarters with the Pittsburg Steelers and Arizona Cardinals as the playable teams.
Considering the loyal following of the Madden NFL series, this promotion probably wasn’t necessary but is a welcome one. For those of you who don’t know the latest rendition of the game, Madden NFL 10, will be out for the Playstation 3, Playstation 2, Xbox 360, PSP, iPhone/iPod Touch, Wii and Nintendo DS on August 14th.
Yes, Twitter is taking over the world, or at least, the Internet, or at least, parts of the Internet. Anyways, you can now follow DigitalBattle on Twitter! Check it out!
Valve has released updated Source SDK files with inclusion of official map files of Team Fortress 2 maps, including the maps Lumberyard, Ravine, Badlands, Dustbowl, Granary, Gravelpit, 2Fort, Badwater, Goldrush, and Hydro.
The new files will give modders and map makers a chance to see how official maps are built, and also lets users tweak with all the settings. This is especially useful for new map makers, a good way of seeing how the best TF2 maps are built.
Valve plans to release more SDK content for TF2 in the near future.
The recent rumors suggesting a new, beefed up Xbox console which will be bundled with Natal has been circulating all over the Internet. Microsoft has denied the rumor, with company spokesman Aaron Greenberg saying (in the usual corporate tone):
“I think part of the excitement about this announcement is that in many ways we are delivering a next generation experience this generation. With that said, I can confirm that Natal will run on Xbox 360 so no new console investment will be necessary.”
Natal will most likely be released in Fall of 2010, which would also make sense to update the Xbox 360 hardware. Perhaps not with more powerful, but at least a smaller system, an “Xbox 360 Slim”, if you may. On the other hands, there might be a whole new console, since you should “never believe anything until it has been officially denied”, as the old saying goes.
Sony has posted on the official PlayStation site, answering a lot of questions from possible PSP Go owners, among them, battery life, accessories and memory card support.
According to Sony, the battery life will remain the same as in the current PSP (PSP 3000), which offers 3 to 6 hours of gaming and 3 to 5 hours of video playback. Furthermore, the PSP Go will ditch the Memory Stick card in favor of the much smaller M2 card. Sony is also considering an attachment which will make it possible to use original PSP accessories with the PSP Go.
The PSP Go will launch this September for $250 in the US and 250 Euro in Europe.
