If the above image is anything to go by the guys over at Steam seem to have uploaded said image clearly displaying Bethesda’s Morrowind and Oblivion before they were announced to hit the service.
The ad was displayed on the homepage for a brief period of time before it was taken down. However, you can still view the ad to verify its legitimacy here, which is clearly located on the Steam’s servers.
I think its safe to say that both of these games will in fact be hitting the service at some point in the very near future. I mean, Bethesda’s Fallout 3 is available from Steam, why not some of their back catalog too?
Six Days in Fulljah was dropped by its publisher, Konami, back in April but that didn’t discourage the guys over at Atomic Games who have continued with development just as planned.
Apparantly, Atomic Games president Peter Tamte along with the game’s consultant Captain Read Omohundro appeared on Fox News to talk a bit about the game. Other than saying how they are currently looking for a publisher for the game, he also told us that the game is about 2/3 of the way done.
Well, Mr. Tamte it doesn’t matter how far done with Six Days in Fulljah you are unless you find a publisher so get on that!
Yesterday we found out what the Metal Gear Arcade‘s hardware would look like and now we know what the its gameplay will look like.
If you didn’t know Metal Gear Arcade is basically just Metal Gear Solid 4‘s online component. The different with the arcade version, however, is that you will be using a new kind of controller specifically designed for this application along with the fact that its completely in 3D. So yes, you will be wearing some kind of 3D glasses goggles while playing this game.
Still no word on if Metal Gear Arcade will ever hit American arcades but it is set to his Japanese arcades sometime later this year.
This was probably expected but is still news anyways — Back in April Square Enix announced that it had effectively taken over Eidos but ever since we haven’t heard much out of the two companies.
Well, Yoichi Wada, Square Enix’s CEO, was recently quoted to say in an interview with Gamasutra that while it was possible that they would be working on Eidos with an existing IP “but what’s more important is that the two companies, for example, are going to be creating a new IP together.”
So, the guys behind the Final Fantasy series will be collaborating with the guys behind the Tomb Raider series for an all new IP. No way of telling what’s in store for us but let’s hope its good, Mr. Wada.
Joystiq has recently gotten their hands on a flyer released by Target that clearly shows you will recieve Target Gift Cards when you purchase some of their products.
First of all, if you purchase both Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, which comes bundled with MotionPlus, along with Grand Slam Tennis you will be greeted with a $20 gift card. Alternatively, if you purchase Guitar Hero Smash Hits for any console you will be given a $5 gift card.
Sure, it’s not much considering you have to spend upwards of $110 to get $20 back or $50 to get $5 but it is a discount of sorts.
Back in April Ubisoft let us know that Assassin’s Creed 2 would be hitting store shelves in time for this year’s holiday season but have kept generally quiet ever since.
Well today comes an announcement that Assassin’s Creed 2 will officially be available to American gamers on November 17th and European gamers on November 20th.
Given the generally good reception recieved by the first game Assassin’s Creed 2 is sure to please fans of the series.
We just learned yesterday that id Sotware’s App Store exclsuiveDoom Resurrection would hit sometime next and today we are greated with a trailer showcasing actual gameplay from the title.
The above trailer does a great job showing off the game-changing visuals featured in Doom Resurrection but it also reveals something to us that was before unknown; Doom Resurrection will be an on-rails shooter.
So, just likeDead Space: Extraction for the Wii, players will not be able to run around in a true 3D environment but instead be restricted to a pre-set path. Oh well, at least it has cool graphics, right?
Game Crazy has just released a previously unannounced app to the App Store for use with both the iPhone and iPod Touch.
According to the app’s description users will be able to see when new titles are set to come out along with viewing high-resolution trailers of said new titles. Additionally, users will be able to find out how much used game trade-ins will be worth so they can see if its worth it before they get to the store.
This app is definitly a welcome addition to the App Store and is sure to garner some internet. Unfortunately I don’t have any Game Crazys around me but does anyone want to make a bet on how long until Game Stop releases an identical app?
