Take-Two Interactive software announced today that BioShock 2 will be pushed back to the fiscal year of 2010, as apposed to a November release this year.
“We concluded that moving the release of BioShock 2 into fiscal year 2010 was the right decision for the product,” stated Chairman Strauss Zelnick. “We believe the result will be a more compelling consumer experience and a better performing product in the marketplace.”
“The decision to shift a release date is never an easy one, especially with a product as highly anticipated as BioShock 2,” added Chief Executive Officer Ben Feder. “We felt that it was essential to invest the additional time to ensure that this title will deliver what its fans expect and deserve.”
More news about the delay will be updated as we get it.
Shatter is a puzzle game to be released for the PlayStation Network. The game is all about box shattering and physics; pretty much a redone Breakout.
Besides the groovy music and Sidhe Interactive’s slogan, the trailer looks pretty mediocre. But I reserve judgment until I actually play the game, because puzzle games can be very fun and addictive regardless of how it looks.
A website for id Software’s upcoming first-person-shooter Rage has spawned. Players can navigate the site, hunting for subtle clues about the game’s storyline and such in a “Follow My Journey” theme. As shown by a Tweet by id, the site will be updated every day this week with new content.
The post-apocalyptic FPS will be out for the PC, Mac OS X, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Linux operating systems and will be out sometime next year.
Ashley Cheng, a producer at Bethesda Game Studios, brings bad news to Fallout 3 fans today. It turns out that the highly-anticipated Fallout 3 DLC will be seeing a delay. Cheng states that Bethesda is aiming for a late September release. The producer also released a brief look at the upcoming DLC packages:
Operation: Anchorage – Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe – the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders.
The Pitt – Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh and choose sides in the battle between the slaves and the slavers.
Broken Steel (pictured below) – Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest and raises the game’s level cap to 30.
Point Lookout – Explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content.
Mothership Zeta – The aliens have returned, and they’re pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you’re tough enough to survive.
Cheng also gave word that the first DLC to be released will be Broken Steel, followed by Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt (probably at the same time).
A comment posted by a fan asking about the Game of the Year Edition was replied to by Cheng, saying “We’ll have more on the Game of the Year version later. Stay tuned.” So, maybe you’ll want to hold out on all the DLC until the GOTY edition comes out, which usually includes all DLC on the disc.

Have you played Battlefield 1943? If so, have you died? If yes then perhaps you were one of the 5 million virtual deaths that happened on the first day the game hit the market.
Furthermore, on Xbox Live alone there were more than 29 years of gameplay logged on the first day as well.
Crazy? Yes. I’m sure part of Battlefield 1943‘s success could be attributed to the fact that ti was priced at only $15 or 1200 Microsoft Points. Not to mention the fact that you didn’t even have to get off the couch to purchase the game as it is offered over both Xbox Live and the Playstation network.
Midway’s been in deep water for some time now but finally Warner Bros. has picked them up and acquired all of their assets. But one question remains, what will the studio be called?
It was previously thought that Midway would just cease to exist and now operate under the Warner Bros. brand. However, Midway exec Geoff Mogilner was quoted to have said the following:
The name and the mark are owned by Warner Bros. and it is up to them to figure out the branding strategy.
Well Warner Bros., as long as you come out with a new Mortal Kombat game, we’ll call it even.
It was recently announced that EA has opened a brand new micro-studio entitled 8 lb Gorilla. This studio will develop games exclusively for Apple’s App Store which runs on both the iPhone and iPod Touch.
EA hopes that 8 lb Gorilla will be able to release 99-cent titles onto the App Store on a semi-monthly basis. The micro-studio’s debut game will be entitled Zombies & Me (trailer above) in which players will take control of Guy as he attempts to protect his grandma from an onslaught of zombies.
Will some of these games be crappy? Most likely, but with EA and 8 lb Gorilla releasing them so quickly they are sure to stumble onto at least one good title.
Considering the hype surrounding the game, this should come as a surprise to no one — Dragon Quest IX has sold 2.3 million copies in its first 2 days on the Japanese market.
That means that in addition to its 2 million pre-orders, Dragon Quest IX was purchased an additional 300,000, for those of you not good with a calculator. Additionally, it was reported that 81.56% of the game’s inventory was sold out nation wide which means it was sure to have sold out at some retailers.
Now all we have to do is play the waiting game until Dragon Quest IX drops in the US. Only then will we know if American gamers have the same interest for the Dragon Quest franchise as the Japanese.
