Major Nelson has once again notified us of a Deal of the Week offer on Xbox Live. This time, it’s Ikaruga getting the cut with a new price point of just 400 Microsoft Points, dropped from the previous 800.

You’ll have to be an Xbox LIVE Gold Member to snag this deal, of course, and it will only run until Monday, July 20th.

Below is a description of the game:

The Japanese arcade hit Ikaruga comes to Xbox LIVE® Arcade! Treasure’s award-winning scrolling shooter brings a tactical twist to the genre with its yin-and-yang gameplay: the color of your ship determines your effect on enemies. In this polarized system, enemy ships and their bullets are one of two colors. Attack an enemy of the opposite color for extra damage. Absorb enemy fire of the same color as your ship, and use the energy for a special attack. Destroy multiple enemies of the same color to score a chaining bonus. Play solo or cooperatively, and use your polarity to achieve victory!

We have been hinted at a Ghostbusters DLC pack coming to LittleBigPlanet for some time now with the Japanese LittleBigPlanet website confirming the fact. However, we didn’t know when the pack would hit the States or at what price.

Well today, SCEA has let us know that the Ghostbusters LittleBigPlanet DLC pack will be coming to the States this Thursday priced at $1.99 for individual costumers or $5.99 for all 4 along with some bonus stickers.

As you can see above, the pack will feature the Puft Marshmallow Man, Slimer, a costume rendition of the Ghostbusters logo and of course the Ghostbusters themselves. But wait, there’s only one? What about the other three?

Ever since fighting games hit the scene players have been crying about overpowered characters, so when Street Fighter IV hit, it was no exception. The two characters who have been under speculation the most are Seth and Sagat, arguably two of the strongest characters in the game, according to some at least.

Well, it seems that everyone was correct, Seth and Sagat are in fact overpowered. Below is a quote from Capcom‘s Ryota Mistuma confirming the fact:

“Yes, Seth and perhaps Sagat might have turned out a little bit stronger than we expected.”

He then went on to say:

“A good player of another character can always beat a good Sagat player or a good Seth player. I don’t think it’s too out of proportion, but we do acknowledge that they turned out a bit more powerful than we expected.”

So there you have it, Capcom knows Seth and Sagat are two very powerful Street Fighter IV characters. Now get over it an start training as the advantage is only slight!

A developer recently said that Hollywood and the movie industry were treating games like any other merchandise; slap the sticker on any crap and hopefully people will buy it. Which is exactly the way one can describe the hideous failure called “Terminator Salvation” (both the game and the movie, but we’ll stick with the game here). The game takes place two years before the movie, where you play as John Connor, in the resistance against the Machines, which have take over Los Angeles. And that’s about it for the story (there is nothing more).

But don’t expect any voice work from Christian Bale, the real John Connor (at least for now), instead, you get a no-name voice actor, and not a good one either. However, that would be considered fine, acceptable even, if there were some decent battles and set pieces like they were in the movie. But the battles are so few, so banal and so repetitive, that I literally completed the game in one setting, in less than a few hours (coffee helps, especially with a game like this). That’s how long the campaign is, and if you count out all the repetitive elements, you probably have less than two hours of decent gameplay.

The Metroid Prime Trilogy has been scheduled for a September 4th release in Europe. While this isn’t as early as the North American release (August 24th), it’s still a solid date. Nintendo of Europe is notorious for having scheduled games in the PAL region several months after its North American and Japanese counterparts.

The trilogy includes every Metroid Prime game, including Corruption, on one disc. All of the GameCube titles have been redone to work with the Wii controls. The collector’s edition will be also be packaged with an art book.

Steam isn’t the only option for online content distribution. Who can forget about Direct2Drive, which offers some pretty good deals like today’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Deluxe Game of the Year Edition for $17.95. The deluxe version of the GOTY edition includes a bunch of DLC in the purchase, including:

  • Horse Armor Pack (DLC1)
  • Orrey (DLC2)
  • Wizard’s Tower (DLC3)
  • Spell Tomes (DLC4)
  • The Vile Lair (DLC5)
  • The Thieves Den (DLC7)
  • Mehrunes Razor (DLC9)

If you haven’t checked this blockbuster out already, now there is no excuse. Unless, of course, your computer doesn’t meet the system requirements. If role-playing-games aren’t your thing but deals are, GRID is 50% off on Steam for the weekend.
