Despite having the Playstation Motion Controller right over the horizon, Sony won’t leave their Playstation Eye in the dust. In fact, they have recently announced that a game exclusivly utilizing the Eye, entitled EyePet, will be ready for a North American release by this holiday season.

If you’re not familiar with this game it will basically let players interact with a virtual onscreen pet using the Playstation Eye. This means the pet will use augmented reality to be aware of its surroundings and appear to actually be interacting with real life objects on screen.

After we got word that Halo 3: ODST would feature a non-HD resolution of 1152×640 we’d think that Modern Warfare 2, being the game that it is, would feature at least a 720p resolution. However, we were wrong.

Pixel counters have reportedly found out via Modern Warfare 2 screenshots that the game will in fact run at 600p, or 1024 x 600, which is the same resolution that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare ran at.

Dont’ fret, however, as Modern Warfare 2 will still feature beautiful visuals which became evident thanks to the recent HD multiplayer video Infinity Ward let us check out.

Now here’s something you don’t see everyday — It seems that a gaming communtity by the name of Ziip got their hands on the domain name modernwarfare4.com and decided to blackmail Infinity Ward for its use.

No, they aren’t asking for a large sum of money but instead a copy of Modern Warfare 4 for each member of their community.

How will Infinity Ward respond to this? Well, they will most likely just use a domain name like codmodernwarfare4.com which will redirect to modernwarfare4.infinityward.com like they did with Modern Warfare 2.

But wait, what happened to Modern Warfare 3?

The recent record June quarter results announced today by THQ have lead the publishers to expand their UFC franchise to other consoles. The financial success of last month was primarily driven by UFC: Undisputed, so it’s no question that it would be in the best interest to release the game for the Wii and handheld systems, which have been dominating the market lately.

No word on a date for the Wii version, or specifics on which handheld platforms will be developed for.

Along with the port, THQ also announced that the series will become an annual franchise, meaning a new game for the series will be released every year, with new gameplay features and modes. Hopefully the game will not turn into another Madden.

Capcom’s Bionic Commando. North American gamers can now download the game straight off of content distribution service Steam, or buy the retail disc from stores. The Steam version can be purchased with Bionic Commando: Rearmed, which also comes out today, for a $44.99.

The action platformer was released in Europe back on the 17th for the PC, along with May console releases worldwide, excluding Japan. This is one of the only instances that I can think of in which Europe received a game earlier than North America.

Having only being released in February, it’s surprising to see Street Fighter IV being marked down to a low $19.99, brand spankin’ new. Heck, even the used versions of the game are selling for higher than that.

If you can’t find the time to leave the house to run over to GameStop, you can order online via EBGames for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Unfortunately, the PC version still retails for $39.99, but you might get a deal if you walk up to the store in-person. The deal is only valid through August 2nd, so now is definitely the time to grab this fighter.

A few other older titles are also on sale, including F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, and Silent Hill Homecoming.
